Pre-Swing Fundamentals

Don't forget about the Pre-Swing Fundamentals (Grip, Aim & Alignment, Posture and Ball Position). Too often the average player forgets to maintain their pre-swing fundamentals by thinking too much about the swing. When the pre-swing fundamentals go it makes it harder to accomplish what is necessary in the swing to get the desired results.

Example: You will struggle to achieve the correct path of the club traveling toward your target if your aim & alignment are incorrect. Your swing path will have to adjust to your alignment, if your shoulders are aligned to the right of the target and you are trying to get your swing path to travel from inside and down the target line your result will likely be a shot that starts left of your intended target or you will have to adjust your path to get the ball to start toward the target.

If you want to go practice your in-swing movements always keep a set of alignment aids to keep your feet, hips and shoulders aligned properly to your target. Make sure you are set properly and then focus on your swing for optimal results.
